Delegates with Special Health Care Needs
Although it is not normally possible to bring Methadone into Japan, special arrangements have been made to accommodate the needs of congress delegates on medically supervised Methadone substitution programs. When traveling to Japan, delegates whose medication includes Methadone preparations must follow compulsory procedures specified by the Japanese Government. Please see below for the detailed directions.

Pre-registration for the congress is required (For registration, please see For registration, please see Congress Registration)
Required documents indicated below must be submitted to the Narcotic Control Department of the Regional Bureaus of Health and Welfare through the 7th ICAAP Secretariat prior to arrival in Japan. Please fax the three documents together by June 14 and mail the original copies to the 7th ICAAP Secretariat.

Required Documents:
1. Import application form

Name and dosage of medication to be imported need to be indicated
2. Export application form
Name and estimated dosage of medication remaining at the point of departure need to be indicated
3. Medical Certificate indicating:
- Diagnosis
- Name of medication
- Dosage prescribed
